October 8, 2021,Breisach - Neuf Brisach - Colmar - 2 Kanäle
A worth seeing round tour in the Vorder Alsace! 🌞😎👍🙋🏻‍♂️

First we visit Breisach; cycle up to the cathedral, the town hall and the open-air theater. Then we cycle through the city to the Europe Bridge; cross the Rhine and cycle on the French side to Neuf Brisach.

A very nice tour. Good to drive. Quiet and cozy on the canal. The small sections on the main roads are not significant.

From Titisee by train to Breisach am Rhein. It was 7 degrees warmer here than in the Black Forest. So put on your sunscreen and get on the pedals.
The way there via Vogelgrün and Neuf Brisach is not that exhilarating. The route leads over many busy country roads, through towns, and is very monotonous.
Then the first highlight before …

With Elli. Via Neuf-Brisach to Colmar. There, a train ride. Return along the Colmar Canal and the Rhone-Rhine Canal.

After we turned towards the canal at the end of the town, we cycled for kilometres along the idyllic water. The 30 km to Breisach were so wonderful to manage. The way back from Neuf-Brisach led over asphalted field paths or back roads through the blazing sun. Actually it was good to cycle, but somehow exhausting at 40 degrees 🥵

If you have enough time, be sure to visit the old town. In Breisach on the market square there are a few cafés that invite you to take a break. The Minster in Breisach can be experienced via streets. The route back to Colmar covered many kilometers of federal highway. If you have time, you should go back the way …

Be sure to visit the Capuchin monastery in Breisach. Great view from up there. The way back leads several KM over the main road.
