Esneux Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The first bridge of Esneux was built in 1783 and collapsed a year later. A river crossing was made until a new bridge was built in 1840. Belgian troops blew up this bridge in 1940. To replace the temporary bridge built in 1942, a new bridge was built in 1958. It bears the name **M. Pierre Neuray** in honor of the engineer who had carried out the planning and died during the construction of the structure.

During the walk you will receive a lot of information about the history and geology of this beautiful piece of nature. But here there is also a geology trail that allows you to see and discover many things for yourself. Unfortunately, the photos of the information boards are not so visible through the sun and the glass, so let's talk about what you can expect (besides a somewhat narrower and more overgrown path) on this "Sentier Paysage & Géologie" from this panel: canals, sinkholes, sinkholes and traces of old iron mines. And of course a lot of information. The path also continues from here to the Roche Aux Faucons. You can find the 28 kilometer walk here: ovatourisme.be/se-balader/promenades-et-randonnees/ITB-0W-0237-0004&type=8

A short walk today. Recovering from a bad flu and the Geuldal Marathon was unfortunately not feasible today.
Although I walked a few kilometers on paved roads, I was certainly surprised by a number of cool highlights, super views and a very cool sentier de la Crête!! What a cool path, lots of roots, up and down and quite rough …
