Since 2010 a thoughtful steel giant has been looking over the Markermeer. He is also called the seated man. The sculptor Antony Gormley developed the figure with Scottish high voltage pylon developers and Dutch engineers for 6 years. It consists of 18,245 steel diagonals, 545 nodes and around 14,000 bolts.
