Green Route of Perugia

Highlight • Trail

A green lung inside the city, with areas equipped for walking, running, training, cycling in total safety (there is also an oval track to "warm up"). Lots of people, plenty of places to eat

View from Monte Pacciano

Highlight • Viewpoint

On the road from San Marino to San Marco, the view is beautiful in all seasons. The road, though not very well maintained, is drivable, and car traffic is very limited.

Beautiful view from San Marino

Highlight • Viewpoint

A beautiful road, which connects the neighborhoods to the north of the city of Perugia with the area of the Ponti della Valle del Tevere. Lots of shade, practically non-existent traffic, when you get to the San Marino crossroads you can choose whether to go down from Cordigliano or from Ponte Rio, both panoramic views not to be missed. The same of course if you want to go up towards Perugia from these roads. The asphalt is not wonderful, but acceptable even for racing bikes

San Fortunato Church

Highlight • Religious Site

According to tradition, the church was built on the ruins of an Etruscan building not far from the Arch of Augustus. However, the presence of the church has been attested since 1163. Around 1630, the Sylvestrines, Congregazione Silvestrina, moved here from the church of Santa Maria Nuova, which in turn was sold to the Servants of Mary. The church of San Fortunato was rebuilt starting in 1634. After long restoration work following the 1997 earthquake, the church was reopened for worship in 2017 and also became a multipurpose space for cultural activities.

It is my city, and I love it so much. Traveling by bike is exhilarating (even if tiring, because there are no shortage of non-trivial climbs) but must be done carefully because of the traffic. It gives you beautiful views when you go on foot or by bike
