With 25 acres (10 ha) of lavender to explore, the farm is a place where you can immerse yourself organic fields of puprle. There is also a cafe serving excellent cream tea. In the evening, I felt broken—convinced there was no way I’d get on the bike in the morning. But the plan changed.

I had a dream—I was cycling, maybe in a race. We were pushing our bikes up a steep hill, had to lift them, and mine felt incredibly light. Then somehow, it got stuck in some netting way up …

I didn’t go for a ride in the morning because I didn’t feel like it, plus I had to go to a football game with the little one. So, I went in the afternoon. I still didn’t feel like it but thought it was just a bit of laziness talking.
