If you are on your way to Krienseregg by mountain bike, you will probably use this road as an ascent. As the next bend becomes increasingly wooded, it is worth …

Fräkmüntegg Rope Park

Highlight • Rest Area

The rope park is very nice, but the lines should be reconsidered. At the Fräkmuntegg restaurant, the great view is totally spoiled by the cables!

Fräkmüntegg

Highlight • Rest Area

From here you can take the cable car up to the Pilatus.
There is a restaurant, various high rope parks for young and old, a toboggan run, a wonderful view, picnic areas, hiking and walking trails.

It's a shame that the cables from the rope park spoil the view.

Flowing round via Fräki with more than 1000 meters of depth on trails.
One of my favorite rounds without the demanding part of the Grenzweg.

Bumpy, flowy, extended Pinsa loop 🤤

The border trail is surprisingly dry.
The new construction from Roteflue over to Chrienseregg already has a fairly steep, but acceptable bike trail - beautiful!

Brave slackliners across the entire Schlosstobel gorge 😱

Pinsa is, as always, flawless 🤟🏻

On the climb, a racing bike with aero rims and handlebars overtook us. I've never seen that before 🤣

Pilatus is covered in snow, there are already a few patches of snow on the trail. It's getting cold 🥶 and the hunt is in full swing in the woods.

Tires are great, as is the new coil damper 🤟🏻

Escape the fog and head up to Fräki. By bike to Chrienseregg and then with snowshoes direttissima via Zimmeregg and Mülimäs up to Fräki.

On (very) snowy trails back down towards Kriens.

Lots of snow, some sledders. Nice round, which can be done with an e-bike.

Border route to the third. But today it was really wintry temperatures and with a little more snow than the last two times. These conditions made the border route even more challenging than it otherwise is. The treacherous roots were nicely hidden and the swamp holes were covered but not yet frozen. So the downhill became a slide in places. …

Wonderful round in the snow on our winter mountain!! ❄️🤍❄️
Below the Fräkmüntegg you go on the Grenzweg to Schönenboden, Roteflue Buholzerschwendi and Schwendelberg all on snow-covered trails..! Changing clothes into dry underwear takes place outdoors, as there are no cable cars running due to strong winds and snow and all restaurants are therefore closed. Trail riding in the fresh …

Exactly as described in a recent Instagram post by a member of Mountainbike Luzern:
"What do I like so much about my home trails? Not shaped, not maintained, not legal! But raw, dirty, and mean! Not popular with the majority - but exactly how we want mountain biking in Lucerne! Just barely rideable!"
