Zernez Railway Station (RhB)

Highlight • Rest Area

Station / Bahnhof Zernez (RhB)
The Zernez Welt-Icon station is located on the northwestern edge of the village of Zernez of the same name at an altitude of 1471 m. It is of great importance for transport, as all trains serving the Engadine line, either partially or fully, stop there. In addition, there is a connection to the post buses via the Ofen Pass into the Münstertal valley to Müstair, Santa Maria and Mals in Italy, where there is a connection to the Vinschgau Railway (Vinschgaubahn) to Merano and Bolzano. In summer, additional post buses run to Davos Platz. Freight transport also plays a major role in Zernez. Freight trains with swap bodies regularly travel to Zernez, from where they are transported further by truck into the Münstertal valley. Furthermore, many goods from the middle Engadine are loaded in Zernez.

Gravel Singletrack to Chaschauna Pass

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The "Stelvio" of single tracks

Apart from a few tight bends, the entire climb can be easily pedaled even with a Gravel bike thanks to the perfect surface and the not exaggerated slopes (on average around 12-13%). Highly recommended.

Obviously it is easy to go downhill too, but the climb from the Italian side is much more demanding

Chaschauna Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

A superlative bike pass that puts you right on the border of Italy and Switzerland. Coming from Livigno, a steep and demanding flow trail awaits you in the Val Chaschauna. If you climb up from Switzerland, you reach the pass via the same trail, which turns out to be a spectacular uphill flow trail.
