Donau City is a district that was newly built in 1996 in the 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt. It is located right next to the Reichsbrücke and is the district closest to the city center on the left bank of the Danube.

Prater Main Avenue

Highlight • Cycleway

In the middle of the green and yet also in the middle of the city. A hike here is always a pleasure! But the Prater Hauptallee is also one of the most famous training routes in the city for runners and cyclists. It is centrally located, easily accessible by public transport and fully illuminated around the clock. If the four kilometers straight ahead are boring anyway, you can choose one of the many branches. Everything you need for daily fitness in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Thumbs up, great!

Prater Main Avenue

Highlight • Cycleway

Beautiful avenue in Vienna, at the beginning of which there is the Wiener Prater and at the end the Lusthaus - almost all sports can be practiced there.

The Danube Canal is a former arm of the Danube that is now regulated as a water canal. It branches off from the Danube near Nussdorf, flows around the city center of Vienna and flows back into the Danube at the Praterspitz. It is 17.3 km long and has an average width of 70 m2. The Danube Canal used to be an important traffic route for shipping, today it is primarily a popular recreational area for the Viennese population.
There are numerous restaurants, bars, lidos and works of art to discover along the Danube Canal. The Danube Canal is considered one of the most beautiful city beaches in Europe and offers a lively atmosphere in summer. The best-known bars on the Danube Canal include Motto am Fluss, Tel Aviv Beach, Badeschiff and Adria Wien. The graffiti art on the Danube Canal is also worth seeing and shows the creative side of the city.

It's been a while, but somehow it wasn't published 🤷🏼‍♂️ One of the destinations of the Danube bike and boat trip was Vienna. A lovely experience, a bike ride across the Danube Island and into the Prater to enjoy a Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancake) at "Zum Kaiser" 😋

Günther picked me up today (thankfully, as always) and together we made a nice afternoon straight for a little snack... We returned home via the island and the Prater, thanks for the good snack hut and nice round - you've made about 10 pick-ups me open 😄👍😉

Beautiful route on the Danube Island, no fitness required, everything very flat, everywhere a quiet place for a break 👍🏻
