Víctor Chávarri Monument

The monument to Victor Chavarri is located in the historic center of Portugalete, specifically in the Plaza del Solar, a few meters from the Town Hall. It is the work of Miquel Bay (1903), and consists of a quadrangular stone base that houses a stone bench on each of its sides with four small angular garden sections. Above this pedestal, and on a marble base, sits the sculpture itself. Looking towards the old railway station there are two male bronze figures (ferrón and sailor), and behind them a marble monolith shows the following inscription on its upper part: "To Víctor de Chávarri 1854-1900".
