Not far from the Nordhausen district border, above Hainrode, lies Wöbelsburg Castle. This mighty mountain spur of gray shell limestone rises majestically from the Hainleite valley. Steeply sloping on three sides, the remains of an old hillfort from the early Iron Age lie on its summit...the destination of our little tour-stamping tour♟️
