The name Heiliger Grund goes back to a legend about Benno (Bishop of Meissen), who was associated with the valley. Today we wanted to visit Meissen. Since the old town isn't that big, we went on a hike through the vineyards first. We walked in a figure-eight, so we could enjoy Saxony's most beautiful vineyard views of 2016 twice. 😉.
