Just ten kilometers from the historic center of Turin is this Savoy residence which has become a UNESCO heritage site. Built in the first half of the eighteenth century, designed by the architect Filippo Juvarra, the imposing palace was used by the sovereigns only for very short stays dedicated to hunting activities. In the 19th century it hosted, among others, Napoleon Bonaparte and later the Indian elephant Fritz, given to Carlo Felice of Savoy.
