Großvaterfelsen

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Grandfather Rock is part of the Devil's Wall. Some strength is required to climb it. But the effort is rewarded. From the top you have a magnificent view of Blankenburg. A few meters further you will find the grandmother rock and the Löbbecke rock. The area is a climbing paradise for children!

Fox Den (Devil's Wall)

Highlight • Cave

"The" Fuchsbau "is an artificial, accessible, cellar-like cavity in the area of the Teufelsmauer. It is located directly on the roadside east of the thunderstorm grotto. The small cave was created in 1934 as a so-called "emergency work" by the unemployed as a hiking destination. In bad weather, hikers can use the burrow as a shelter.
You get into the burrow through a narrow entrance. A spiral staircase leads into the depths, where a narrow corridor connects. The cave offers space for several people inside. There is a bench with a panoramic window opposite, which allows a less spectacular view of the forest.

The name for the artificial cavity was borrowed from the hunter's language. The name refers to the construction of the red foxes with access tunnel (tube) and living space (boiler). Only the escape tubes common with wild animals are missing in the man-made "burrow". The red fox burrows do not have such a beautiful window in the living room ”👹🤠

Cliff path to the Devil's Wall

Highlight (Segment) • Natural Monument

A beautiful path over hill and dale. Rock crevices and pine trees, narrow paths and beautiful views line this path. It connects the Hamburg coat of arms with the Teufelsmauer slope path and requires sure-footedness. I can only recommend to everyone.
