The Parenzana cycle path runs along the disused 123-kilometer stretch of the narrow-gauge railway Trieste-Parenzo-Canfanaro (Trieste - Porec-Koper) in northwestern Istria, which in the years 1902 to 1935 crossed a total of 13 kilometers in Italy, 32 kilometers in Slovenia and 78 kilometers in Croatia. For 33 years, the Parenzana, named after the Italian name of Porec, connected 33 Istrian towns with each other.
