Red navigational marker on Sylt

Highlight • Monument

The path is really corrosive for hikers. Only cars and cyclists. And pure asphalt. But the beach on the Wadden side is unfortunately closed.

List West Lighthouse

Highlight • Monument

The official names of the two lighthouses in the north of Sylt are: "List-West" and "List-Ost" - making them the northernmost lighthouses in Germany. For about 14 nautical miles, the lighthouses show the ships the right course.

The concrete path through the dunes is not recommended; cyclists and large cars struggle to get to the parking lot... It's better to return along the beach.
An inexpensive, quiet café alternative is the Naturgewalten Haus with a view of the mudflats.

Unfortunately, the weather made it impossible to stop along the way and as the rain got heavier, the only thought was about returning. Luckily, there was a bus leaving from the Ellenbogen turnoff.

From the port in List you go along the dikes, dunes and beaches to the northernmost point of Germany. Unique nature reserves make this tour a must on Sylt

Showing Translation

To round off our little break, we visited the northernmost point of Germany today. We stowed our luggage at the train station and then took the bus to List. Because the tide was low, we were able to walk along the beach on relatively firm ground.

A great trip in absolute fog and drizzle. But still worth it.

From the autobahn, it is better to use "no way" than to be constantly overtaken on the road

Today we were out on the "elbow" in the best weather. We were at the northernmost point of Germany. The way back took a bit longer... But it was a perfect day with "Buenos Dias" 😎
