Habsthal Monastery

Highlight • Religious Site

The Benedictine monastery was previously unknown to us cyclists and we only wanted to take one photo while driving through Habsthal. Arrived in the cloister courtyard, we were kindly invited to an espresso by a Benedictine woman,
and so it became a longer stay, during which we learned interesting and impressive things about the work and life in the Habsthal monastery.
The monastery church holds many artistic treasures. The ceiling painting z. B. comes from the painter Gottfried Bernhard Göz, who helped the Birnau pilgrimage church to its splendor.
There is also a nice monastery shop with a wide range of products. This is definitely worth a visit (note the opening times - see the monastery website).

For us, the visit to the monastery was the highlight of our tour! (It's good that the monastery shop was just open).
