Fabulous tour, especially the initial section up to Cima Cavallazza... Incredible views! Then, when you reach the Combricon Lakes, it feels like you're on the beach in Rimini!

Friday the 13th and picture-perfect weather. Only met five hikers on the trail today. Here on the former border of Italy and Austria, now Trentino and Venice, war was waged on Cavallazza during World War I (pictures 8 and 9) demonstrate the sheer insanity. Back then, more soldiers died from accidents, avalanches, and cold than in combat.

Nice hike from Passo Rolle. Start with a short but demanding climb on a ski slope, then continue without difficulty, except for the descent towards the lakes on fairly steep terrain, sometimes slippery with stones, which you need to pay a little more attention to.

Today I say to my husband, let's take a relaxing walk, I read that it only takes 50 minutes to get to the Colbricon lakes with little difference in altitude. I see that the path towards Lake Cavallazza starts outside our accommodation at the Rolle pass; I look on my fantastic Koomot app and I see that to get to …

Departure: Malga Passo Rolle
Travel time: 4 hours
First follow the SAT 348 signs for the Colbricon lakes, along an easy and wide path in the woods.
After passing the Colbricon refuge, take the path on the left, which goes up the ridge to Cima Cavallazza; it is a very steep path that in the last part, runs on stony …

Initially, a relaxed forest path through the nature reserve to the beautiful Colbricon lakes, then a steep climb, at times over a lot of loose scree, perhaps because we'd lost the correct path... Stone pyramids finally help us continue to the summit. Just below, we find the remains of the trenches where soldiers held their positions high up at 2300 …

Nice ride, medium difference in height but
the descent from the Cavallazza peak to Colbricon should not be underestimated. Gondo gravelly and very steep. Tour done with a 7 year old girl.
