Hohatzenheim church

Highlight • Other

The Saint-Pierre-et-Paul church is a Catholic church located in Hohatzenheim,
magnificent panorama from the cemetery on the plain of Alsace towards Strasbourg, 👍

Built on the site of an ancient Roman temple and an 8th century sanctuary, the present church dates from the last quarter of the 12th and middle 12th centuries. It is the Salian period, the second Roman age. The interior is very conservative, almost Ottonian, but on the western facades there are already primitive traces.

The church was classified as a historical monument in 1898 [1]. It was the property of the abbey of Marmoutier then of the abbey of Neuwiller-lès-Saverne.

Piste des Forts

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Sometimes you can see the forts better and sometimes worse, they are all cordoned off. In any case, the path above the villages is beautiful and every now and then there is a nice view of Strasbourg with Münster and the Rhine plain

Former fort of Strasbourg city fortification. Although renamed into French, a white lettering still testifies to the German builders.
