Fantastic descent into the valley. Worth the climb. Although for the most part it isn’t technical watch out for the odd rock garden or hidden dips to catch you out. Lots of bits and bobs to jib off

Ancient Road that goes from Kilnsey to Malham tarn. This starts off steady but really cranks up the gradient as you get closer to the summit. A good challenge for many cyclists.

May 10, 2024,Dales day out.
A good ride inspired by a old guide book from the 90s steep start from Settle ,then lovely tracks to Malham tarn. Another grassy climb and descent to Hawkswick and a bit of road to Kilnsey. Then a long climb up Mastiles lane back to Malham. Steep uphill and lovely descent back into Settle. In all a grand day out …
