Love-Lock Bridge over the River Wye, Bakewell

Highlight • Bridge

If you are visiting Bakewell with somebody special, be sure to write your initials, names, or message on a padlock, lock it to the bridge and throw the key into the River Wye as a gesture of your love. Lots of lovers have already and it is getting to be quite a tradition.

Grassy Bridleway to Monsal Trail (Bakewell Slice MTB Route)

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Good alternative route back to Bakewell instead of the Monsal trail. We did a loop from Bakewell out along the Monsal trail and then back along this route. Would recommend, although could be muddy in winter.

Singletrack to the Ford in Peak District National Park

Single track starting from the road in Hassop, relatively flat with gravel for the first section before turning into a bit of a rock garden with drop offs as it drops down to the stream. The path does Ford the stream but was deep enough to wet my shoes even after a few weeks of dry weather, there is a little bridge alternative

Pilsley Village to 13 Bends Descent Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

Turn left at the Devonshire Arms in Pilsley (from the Chatsworth farm shop side) up to the top of the lane. Where the main lane veers left there is a narrow grit path on your right head down here for great views and great single-track. Beware of on coming horses and low hanging branches

Gravel Descent to Edensor

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

This descent into Edensor is a real treat. Fast and long, it takes you over loose rocks and gravel with occasional deep ruts and big stones to pop air off. It can be a little technical in places (especially after wet weather) but easily ridable on MTB or a gravel bike.
