Oxenhope Moor Hill

Highlight • Climb

Cote de Oxenhope Moor (Cock Hill) was a climb used on stage 2 of the 2014 Tour de France when it started in Yorkshire. On that occasion the climb came up from Oxenhope and down to Hebden Bridge.

The climb isn't too steep in either direction but it can be windy/cold up here as there isn't much in the way of shelter from any direction.

Pecket Well to Midgley Scenic Road

Highlight • Viewpoint

The road between the wonderfully named Pecket Well and Midgely is a great alternative to the busy valley road. You can enjoy lovely views on a much quieter road.

Nice food, prices aren't bad. Lots of outdoor seating and the sun shone.

This point marks the start of what is claimed to be England's longest continual road ascent. It's not that steep (ave gradient 3%) but climbs 968 feet (295 m) in about 5.5 miles (8.9 km). It's a long power climb to get your teeth into with great views at the top.

Hebden Bridge Canal Basin

Highlight • Cafe

Quite simply, one of the UK's coolest, most creative and beautiful small towns. Has attitude in abundance. Great for a meander, decent cafes serving great coffee and a lot going on.
