Oliver's Mount — Viewpoint and War Memorial

Well worth it for the view, and there's a cafe here too.

Oliver's Mount is an area of high ground overlooking Scarborough, with great views over the town. Oliver's Mount first held a motorcycle race in 1946 and continues to do so today. In 2016 it was the summit for the final classified climb on the third stage of the Tour de Yorkshire.

South Bay, Scarborough

Highlight • Historical Site

South Bay is a popular beach flanked by all the beach essentials; Fish & chips, cockles & winkles, arcades and ice creams. Holidaymakers have been flocking here since the 17th century.

At the north end of the bay you will find a working harbour and the 11th century Scarborough Castle high up on the hill overlooking the town.

Throxenby Mere

Highlight • Lake

This is a lovely and serene pond just outside Scarborough. There is a useful car park area, where it'd be easy to stop and give your bike a bit of a breather. Don't fail to walk out onto the fishing platforms to get a good view of the mere - unless they're already occupied by anglers with whom the Mere is quite popular.
