Mapleridge Lane

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A fantastic, gently undulating lane, that is pretty, fairly quiet and possible to get some speed along in both directions.

Some would say this should be my hometown! There's a shop at the garage and a pub (The Dog) opposite. The turret on the hill is in fact a chimney for the railway tunnel that passes underneath.

Doddington Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

A fun and pretty climb out of the village of Doddington. Usually, a quiet road but may need to slow down to pass any rare traffic. Bit pot holey in one part but the gradient usually scrubs off any speed by that point. Slight descent a midway point so make the most of it.

Bannerdown Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Hill leading into Bath. Can be rather busy during rush hours. However, is a very nice hill to ride up with a mixture of steady and steep gradients and a nice length.

Bitterwell Lake

Highlight • Structure

Bitterwell Lake is a man-made lake that once belonged to the Coalpit Heath Colliery Company. The lake was used to soak pit props for the mine until the closure of the mine.

In 1930, the lake was aquired by the Westerleigh Parish Council who transformed it into a place to fishing, swimming, and boating. You can find more information, here: bitterwelllake.co.uk
