Crag Fell Summit

Highlight • Summit

I wish I could say I had good views from here but the weather was horrid. I hiked this at the same time as Grike and Lank Rigg by parking on the Ennerdale to Calder road. Good paths but had no view at all today.

Grike

A Wainwright and a good spot for a coffee!

Lank Rigg Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

As Adv Nic said, most people come to Lank Rigg from the NE. However I came in from the West parking on the Ennerdale to Calder mountain road. There are a few places there to park but not many. It is a good place to start from to take in the three Western Wainwrights of Grike, Crag Fell and Lank Rigg. Mind you I did it on a horrid day and saw nothing for the 2nd day in a row!

Caw Fell

Highlight • Natural

Caw Fell is a Wainwright in the Lake District National Park. It's a 2,287-foot (697 m) Western fell that is commonly hiked along the ridge with Haycock. On two occasions I've also walked between Caw Fell and Lank Rigg which can be a little boggy in wet weather but is otherwise a great walk to the far Western edge of the Lake District.

Haycock Summit

Highlight • Climb

Haycock is a Western Lake District Wainwright fell that can be accessed from a few different angles when linked to other Wainwrights. From the North East, it can be walked from Steeple or Scoat Fell. From the South it can be walked from Seatallan or Middle Fell. From the North West it can be walked from Caw Fell. I've tried all approaches and it's all great hill walking!

Ennerdale Water Southern Shore Path

Highlight (Segment) • Lake

Ennerdale Water is one of the quieter lakes in the Lake District National Park, the southern shore is even quieter as you must make some effort to get here. The around the lake trail is a great run of around 7 miles (11.4 km) or you can create a route that takes in some of the surrounding fells as well.
This trail along the southern shore is well maintained and easy to follow but sections are still rocky and require care, especially if you want to run fast.

This rock on the shore of Ennerdale Water is known as Robin Hood's Chair and is a perfect spot to admire the tranquil surroundings around you.

Ennerdale Water

Highlight • Trail

Ennerdale is a great place to visit if you're looking to escape from the world. It's location means it's a bit out of the way, thankfully this means a lot less people.

You can do a circular walk around Ennerdale and the views are fantastic.
