Ennerdale Water

Ennerdale Water is the most westerly lake in the Lake District National Park. It formed in the depression caused by the glaciers. It's about 150 ft (46 m) at its deepest point.
It's normally a bit quieter than the other lakes and has a brilliant lakeside trail all around it, perfect if you want a fun but fairly flat run.
Head to Ennerdale Bridge for post run refreshments.

A simply beautiful view down the length of Ennerdale Water. The distant Western Fells form the horizon, with Pillar's profile looking particularly dramatic from here. It is possible to do a loop of the lake from here, a walk that totals just over 7 miles (11.5 km).
