Deeside Way — Edge of Aberdeen

Highlight • Cycleway

The Deeside Way traces the former Deeside Railway from Aberdeen to Ballater. You pass old railway stations as you ride the 41-mile (66 km) traffic-free trail through the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside.

The path is shared by walkers and cyclists, so watch your speed. It's not always paved, so expect some mud, especially after rain.

Past Scolty the Forestry Commission has closed a section for logging. The diversion adds additional an unwelcome ascent on tracks with deep chunky gravel.
