Cosy and characterful Tea garden in the beautiful village of Teigngrace, snuggled between the Stover Canal and the Teigngrace Railway. Access is via the Stoverway path (no car parking). Cream teas very popular, garden is sheltered from any wind by traditional stone walls

Old Crane at Ventiford Basin

Highlight • Monument

Ventiford Basin is the Northern terminus of the canal. Clay from the local area was brought here overland, loaded onto barges and sailed down the canal to the Jetty Marsh sea lock. Depending on the state of the tide, barges would then travel along the Whitelake Channel, past Town Quay in Newton Abbot and down the River Teign to be trans-shipped to larger vessels at the docks in Teignmouth. Lustleigh is a beautiful Devon village with thatched white painted cottages and narrow lanes. Some say it is the prettiest village in Dartmoor.

Cafe 3 Sixty

Highlight • Cafe

Having spent the best part of the last 100 years as a garage and workshop, the owners of Cafe 3 Sixty have transformed the building into a wonderful spot for hungry cyclists and passersby yet retained much of its history in the renovation.

An independent cafe, you’ll find a heavy bike theme here and you can even park your two-wheeled steed inside. Outside seating allows for dogs although they’re not permitted indoors due to the open kitchen.
