Duck under the 'Fisher Family Pier' sign to head out onto the Pompano Beach Pier. It's a popular place for families to go fishing or for a stroll. There are lovely views of the white sand and clear blue ocean in both directions. The pelicans which you will no doubt see are also a wonderful sight. There are plenty of places to eat and drink around the pier too if you are looking for a scenic pit stop.

Highlight • Beach

Spanish River Park is a full service park with grills, nature trails, bird observation areas, restrooms, and many sports courts.

There is also a Bark Park located on the beach between lifeguard towers 18 and 20 allows your furry friend to enjoy the ocean! In order for the city of Boca Raton to be able to facilitate this, there are specific rules including permits needing to be purchased for each dog ($15-$210), leash rules, dog behavior, and more. For all rules prior to getting there, see the city's website.

Unless you have a beach cruiser or fat bike, you will need to walk your bike on the beach.

View of Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse

Highlight • Viewpoint

There is a great view of the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse from the North Ocean Boulevard. When the lighthouse was first built in the early 20th century, it was found to be the cause of wildfires in the Everglades. When the light was stopped during daylight, it would focus light inland and start a fire. The lighthouse was altered to prevent this from happening. It is open for private tours once a month.
