Quellenhof Covered Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Between Sorgente and Saltusio, this wooden bridge is a great way to cross the Passirio stream by bike or on foot. Easily, looking towards the river, you might notice people canoeing down it.

Passeier Cycle Path - spa town of Merano to St. Leonhard in Passeier
The 19 km long Passeier Valley cycle path leads from the spa town of Merano to St. Leonhard in Passeier
The Passeier Valley cycle path is mostly flat and along a slight incline through the wonderful landscapes of the Passeier Valley. The refreshing Passer accompanies the cyclist along the entire cycle path. The starting point is the spa town of Merano: from the thermal spa square, we head east through the Elisabeth Park into the Passeier Valley. Always continuing on the right bank of the river, we soon leave the city area. The path is still asphalted here, later it becomes a gravel path.
Above us on the right we see Schenna with the castle, the church and the mausoleum of Archduke Johann. On the left are the villages of Tirol, Kuens and Riffian. We have already covered half of the route past Saltaus. We cross the river several times as the cycle path changes sides of the bank. At Quellenhof we drive past the golf course and continue to St. Martin.
When we arrive in St. Leonhard in Passeier, we have reached the end of the cycle path. On the way there we pass the Sandwirt, the birthplace of the legendary freedom fighter Andreas Hofer. Here the MuseumPasseier awaits us with all its special features and valuable contemporary witnesses to the history of Tyrol. Worth seeing!

Those who like monotony are in good hands on this cycle path. On one side the river, on the other a railway line. Here it is more advisable to drive along the wine route. Right through apple orchards and small streets.

September 6, 2022,Passeirer Radweg - The Day After Gampenpass
Today we want to ride a tour that we recently saw on Bike Mike's YouTube channel, the Passeir cycle path. It goes from Meran to St. Leonhard in Passeier and is around 19 kilometers long.
We think it's fine, it will certainly be a relaxed recovery tour after yesterday's exertion.
So quickly downloaded the GPX file and flanged the route …

In great autumn weather we went to the Passeier Valley to Sankt Martin. Unfortunately the recording didn't work properly (the battery on my phone was empty), it's about 73km. And Karl, this time I'm in the Passer 😄

The weather is stable today and so I don't linger, but get on my bike. After a cool night, the air is pleasantly clear.

I want to ride to St. Leonhard at the "end" of the Passeiertal; from here it only goes up over the Timmelsjoch and Jaufenpass to Austria or the Sterzing basin.

A beautiful tour with clear weather and strong wind.

Since the weather wasn't ideal for hiking again, we got back on our bikes to Bolzano. The cycle paths are pure cycle highways, and even the road cyclists go that fast! On the way back, we got soaked to the bone in the last few kilometers!
Well, that was the week in South Tyrol; the weather disappointed us for the …

Today was pure enjoyment in a dreamlike area, beautiful to look at and for everyone to ride!!!!🫠

Very nice tour even for inexperienced people. The way back is almost self-sufficient

As every year, a worthwhile bike tour with a break at the Brückenwirt.🍻
