Really beautiful section. Easy steady climbs. Easy to handle even for beginners. Little traffic. Good road condition. In the summer certainly shady and cool.

Sassetta is a picturesque village located in the Cornia valley, characterized by narrow streets and quiet squares. This location is renowned for its red marble, a world rarity, which has always been expertly shaped by stonecutters and skilled sculptors.

Recommended, beautiful route past villages clinging to the hills. Just a shame about the return trip to San Vincenzo -donoratico. This is on the busy provincial road, but it should be possible to develop a nicer cycling route there

Showing Translation

Bike tour from our accommodation via Castagneto Carducci to Sassetta. From there, 15 km of very beautiful descent, lined with cork oaks, to Suvereto. Then uphill again to Campiglia Marittima, a beautiful little town. The return journey was then downhill and flat via San Vincenzo but not so nice because of the traffic.

Showing Translation

Climbed from Cafaggio to Campiglia Marittima from Via Piagge, a very challenging route without hairpin bends.
The road from Sassetta to Suvereto is very beautiful, a succession of beautiful curves in the greenery.
