Highlight • Forest

Tranquil oasis in the middle of Epping Forest. It can get busy at the weekends, but it's a really nice spot to stop and take a breather.

I think I found that drop on my last visit! I give it a miss as I was a little intimidated. Like Epping but struggle to find a decent loops but have fun getting lost. Hopefully can now follow some routes from Komoot now.

Epping Forest

Highlight • Trail

Epping Forest is a beautiful ancient woodland bordering Essex and Greater London. It is one of the largest public open spaces in the London area, covering around 2,400 hectares (approximately 5,900 acres). The forest stretches about 12 miles (19 km) from Epping in the north to Wanstead in the south. These days, Epping Forest is a popular destination for outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding, birdwatching, and picnicking. The forest also offers a network of well-marked mountain biking trails right next to London. Here there are epic mud rides in the winter and gorgeous green bashes in the summer. There is a lot of biking fun to have here.

Expect wide and easy fire roads, more testing single track, some small drop offs and even a few jumps as you take in part of the Green Ride route. You'll pass by Bellringer's Hollow, Loughton Camp, and Earl's Path Pond, all well worth taking a nosey about!

Strawberry Hill Pond

Highlight • Viewpoint

Strawberry Hill Pond is located within Epping Forest and provides a peaceful retreat perfect for a rest and picnic following a forest walk.

The pond is enveloped by conifers and sweet chestnut trees and has a very tranquil and pleasant feel to it. There's a little wooden bench next to the water where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere.
