Flensburg Museum Harbor

Highlight • Historical Site

In Flensburg's historic harbor, visitors can still experience the city's maritime heritage and way of life firsthand. Alongside the museum shipyard and the maritime museum, the harbor boasts a diverse collection of historic motor, sailing, and steamships. Highlights include the famous saloon steamer Alexandra, the Captain's Walk, where visitors can relive a day in the life of a captain, and the beautiful old town setting, which, in conjunction with numerous maritime events, truly offers a journey back in time.

Flensburg Fjord Marina

Highlight • Structure

Located directly on the water, you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the Flensburg Fjord and can watch sailboats, some of which depart from the nearby base of the German Offshore Sports Association HANSA (DHH). The waterfront promenade invites you to take a leisurely picnic break or visit a café before continuing on toward Glücksburg or Flensburg city center. A visit to the DHH's long-established yacht schools, where sailors from all over the world have been trained for almost 100 years, is particularly worthwhile.

It was a bit strenuous at times, as it was quite hilly with relatively steep inclines. We "flatland Indians" weren't expecting that.
But we were rewarded with the beautiful old town of Flensburg, 😁.

The stairs down to Solitude are very steep and difficult. The riverside path below the barracks has almost been washed away. I wouldn't do either of these again and would rather take the cycle path along the road.

Flensburg and the surrounding area has many places worth seeing and mostly well-developed cycle paths

A short discovery tour. Many sections are right by the water. It whets your appetite for more sea 😎

A trip to the fjord with a decelerated little bike tour from Flensburg along the Baltic Sea beach to the nature reserve on the Holnis peninsula and to the "northernmost city in Germany", to Glücksburg.

Day 1 on the Baltic Sea Coastal Cycle Route. The car is parked in Lübeck, which is the destination of our bike tour. Fortunately, we took the Bimmel train to Flensburg
the train drivers didn't strike today. Since the train journey lasted 3 hours, today's route is also a bit shorter, but no less varied.
