Queen Victoria Statue, Perth

Highlight • Monument

The statue commemorates Queen Victoria. It was gifted to the city of Perth by Mr Allen Stoneham, a local and London mining entrepreneur in 1902.

It was a replica of another made for the Examination Hall of the Royal College of Surgeons, with the Queen’s robes given to the sculptor to copy the lace into the Carrara marble. The veil was also created in likeness of the Queen’s wedding veil. The pedestal contains bas relief sculptures of Edward VII and Alexandra who were the reigning monarchs at the time of the unveiling.

A wonderful good evening!

It's sunny but windy and cool here! Just how I like it! :-))

After a very good avocado and bacon brekkie, I started my little morning hike, armed only with my smartphone (I actually forgot my Nikon in the hotel), towards Kings Park! :-))
