Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon and Waterfall

Since the beginning of the year (2018) the canyon can only be climbed above the paved paths. The earlier access in the river itself is forbidden, as a salmon uses the waters for their spawning. The paved path is continuous and ensures on the one hand the visitors from the crashing of the cliffs and on the other the partly very trampled fauna, when the way was not yet secured. Since 2011, the number of visitors to the canyon has increased from 20,000 (in 2011) to 400,000 (in 2017). So you should take a look at this wonder of nature as soon as possible!
