Limestone Terraces of Burren National Park

Highlight • Natural Monument

In the middle of the Burren you hike through the protected area of the Burren National Park. It extends over 15 square kilometers in the middle of the typical karst landscape. Above all, the environment here is under protection because there are a variety of rare plants and animals such as butterflies. The paths are often not steep, but due to the different stone formations you should always pay attention to where you step.

There are 2 entrances to the Burren, if the parking spaces on the other side are full (many people start their hike here) - it is worth trying to drive to the other side. (5 parking spaces above and 2 directly at the entrance).

The roads here are narrow, both on the way there and back! 🙈🙈 A single lane. So many curves and hills. Mastered with ease 😅
In the evening, we only briefly entered Burren National Park. It's worth it! A vast lunar landscape awaits. There are many options... We chose the shorter route. From the top, you have a breathtaking view …

Wonderful stone landscape, but the circles can only be seen with a drone... Every travel guide is misleading...
