We begin the hike directly from our hotel. It leads through the small town center of Mystras along the road to the lower entrance of the old town. Today we walked through Mystras. The town is located on the slope of the Taygetos mountain and the climb to the fortress was steep, over stairs and thick stones. From the top there were beautiful views over the wide valley. Only the monastery is still inhabited by nuns today.
