The castle has been mentioned in various sources since 1540 and was privately owned until 1945. Today it is state-owned, but nevertheless only accessible to the public during special events, such as exhibitions (fussingoeslot.dk).
However, there is still the possibility to arrange a guided tour for smaller groups of 10-15 people - if you register in advance. The park, however, is freely accessible to the public.
