Wonderful path all the time along the foot.
Not suitable for prams as there is really only a narrow path.

Spreewald Lakes Uetze

Highlight • Lake

The farmer Fritz Meinecke and his wife Irene were horrified: they probably only learned from the newspaper that the "Burgdorfer Konserve" was closing. The homestead and the many fields with vegetables, especially carrots, threatened to end.
The canning factory in nearby Burgdorf near Hanover has been a reliable buyer for the Uetz harvest all year round.
47 years ago, the smart farmer had a clever idea. Meinecke let go of farming. He put everything on one card. Together with a friend he hatched an exotic, whimsical plan.
Fritz Meinecke planned a holiday area at the gates of Uetzes.
With caterpillars, excavators and loads of truckloads, the subsoil was being removed hour after hour, day after day and week after week.
Today's lake landscape on Irenensee and Spreewaldsee was created in winding paths and leaving bits of island behind.
While a weekend settlement was being established on the Spreewaldsee, a very fine swimming lake was being dug up in front.
Out of love for his wife, the clever Fritz named the resulting water Irenensee.
In the years that followed, a die-hard, cozy campsite and mobile home area developed there.
With a lot of skill and attention to detail, a headland was created, a fountain installed and a circular path with buildings and plants, as well as a sandy beach were created. (T. Fassbender)

Bench with a beautiful view of Lake Irene with its small islands. It must be said, however, that there are some benches with a beautiful view of the water around the lake!

Irenensee and Spreewaldsee

Highlight • Lake

The settlement area Irenensee/Spreewaldseen with almost 300 houses, a mobile home site and the Irenensee campsite was created in the 1970s as a holiday settlement. Most of the houses are now permanently inhabited. Due to the structural condition and the heating technology, many residents have high energy costs. The specific greenhouse gas emissions from heating with electric night storage heaters are particularly high.

This is a real highlight around the corner. Spreewald lakes. Camping. Glamping. Vacation homes. Truly beautiful to look at.

Today I was free and the kids are with friends from noon, what could be better than taking advantage of the dry weather and doing 2 tours 🙈. The first led me to Irenensee, Spreewaldsee and Friedwald. I started at the parking lot at the campsite. Then halfway around the lakes, on to Friedwald, along the Fuhse. Back again and …

A dreamy walk around the lakes and through the forest along the Fuhse River. With the first blooming plants and the trees tinging with green, it's the perfect place to completely unwind 🌱 🌞
