St. Martin Church

The first church was here in 1344. Over the centuries there was a very varied history until finally on June 5, 1933 the foundation stone for today's church was laid.

The new church is a hall church with a gabled roof and a recessed rectangular chancel. The 32 m high and square (6.60 × 6.60 m) church tower is a flank tower covered with a pyramidal roof. The church is 39.6 m long and 14.2 m wide, the clear height is about 9.50 m; it offers space for about 400 visitors.

The baroque high altar from the former simultaneous church was erected in 1757 by the Sulzbach sculptor Michael Barmann and transferred to the new church. A side altar was made by the sculptor Lamprecht from Schlicht and was taken over to the new church together with the other. The main altar shows the cloak division of the church patron. The altarpiece is dominated by the figures of St. Florian, St. Stephen, St. James and St. surrounding Sebastian. The gilded tabernacle was made by the Regensburg church smith Josef Ebentheuer and depicts the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary. The left altar is a Marian altar, next to the representation of the Mother of God are the figures of St. Augustine and St. Ulrich. On the right side altar, the image of John Nepomuk is supported by the figures of the apostle Judas Thaddeus and St. accompanied by Francis Xavier.

On the east wall in the chancel are depictions of Maria Immaculate and St. Joseph. The painter Georg Winkler from Regensburg created a Stations of the Cross in 1934, consisting of 14 Stations of the Cross panels. (Source Wikipedia)
