Stone retaining wall of the former railway line

Highlight • Structure

If you ride here, you will be on the wonderful Ahrtal cycle path.
Characteristic features of the former railway line: information boards about the history of the Ahr Valley Railway, stone retaining walls with cozy niches that invite you to take a break, the former train station building in Müsch and a double signal line your path.
The route does not present any major difficulties. The caveat is that there are only a few catering establishments on the Ahrtal cycle path. You have to look for them. Not everyone has good opening hours.

It's nice that this retaining wall didn't fall victim to the demolition hammer 🍀.
Especially on hot days, it's easy to drive or sit in the shade and study the numerous information boards.

34 steles along the Ahr are intended to commemorate the flood disaster in July 2021; one such stele can be found on the Ahr cycle path above Fuchshofen.

The bridge was a highlight, the beautiful rest area has been a construction site since the flood. At least there is still parking.

Pit stop

Highlight • Rest Area

It is worth stopping here for several reasons: information about the history, a little insight into the mineralogy and a dry shelter in case it should rain,
