With its magnificently representative roof, facade, and tower designs, its fabulous illusionist paintings, and its exemplary Zwinger design, it is one of the most significant secular buildings of the German Late Gothic period. It served as a summer residence for the Prince-Bishops of Augsburg until secularization.
