Nice path along the Triefenbach from Hilschweiher to the Gasthaus Hüttenbrunnen. At the inn, be sure to walk about 100 meters up the mountain to see the springs that spring up there. Worthwhile.👍

Villa Ludwigshöhe

Highlight • Historical Site

It was not without reason that King Ludwig I decided in 1843 to have a summer villa built in the Palatinate, which was then part of Bavaria and where his father Maximilian I came from. It was to be located on the edge of the Haardt mountain range. In 1845, the necessary land at the foot of the Rietburg was purchased from the communities of Edenkoben and Rhodt. A wonderful piece of land.

April 24, 2024,Edenkoben-Hüttentour (Hüttenbrunnen)
A real hut tour from Edenkoben

Paths:
partly muddy due to the heavy rain of the last few days, from Hüttenbrunnen we left the planned path at Triefenbach. It was certainly better that way.
Otherwise it was a mix of forest paths and trails.

Small, fine, not too difficult hike with many places to stop for refreshments.

From Rhodt into the Modenbachtal, over the Kesselberg to the Hüttenbrunnen and back to Rhodt. Sun, cold wind and almond blossoms included. 🌸🌤
Unfortunately, the recording went a little crazy again. 😆 We weren't traveling that quickly and were on the road for almost five hours with breaks. 😅😉

A very beautiful tour with many trails, mostly in shady forests, and many, many huts. Typical Palatinate...unrivaled.
Only the Rietburg was definitely too crowded for us, as you can take the chairlift directly there and into the nearby game reserve.

I actually wanted to go from Weyher in the direction of Burrweiler to Geisburg and from there to the Amicitia hut to clear the narrow path up to the Sieben-Quellen fountain (official route to the Nello hut).
After a short sprint at the LU main station (the regional express to Koblenz made an extra stop without a platform indication and …

Today we took advantage of the great weather and went on a fantastic tour in the Palatinate Forest. This tour could actually be called a PWV hut tour. We started at the Edenkobener Hut. From there, we walked comfortably uphill to Kohlplatz, where we could take our first rest. From there, we continued to the Nello Hut. However, it's only …

Nice tour. We had to change route at some point because the paths suggested by komoot were completely overgrown.
Stopped at the Rietania hut. Very full (probably because of the weather, holiday season and because the Swiss house is also closed at the moment). Unfortunately not so many pork-free and vegetarian or vegan options anymore.
Good Riesling spritzer for 4.80.
