Lauenburg Old Town

The lower town of the old shipping town of Lauenburg is worth a trip. The lower town is at risk from every powerful Elbe flood. The water levels are marked at one point. The last floods were a disaster for every owner. People who had recently renovated had to start all over again.

Start with the ferry to Zollenspieker, then always on the Elbe cycle path towards Lauenburg. Some steep climbs behind Geesthacht through the “Hohes Elbufer” area😬, but a beautiful forest. Relaxed way back on the southern, more beautiful side, towards Hoopte.
