The Beelitz Heilstätten's lounges were an essential part of the sanatorium concept, which was based on fresh air and sufficient rest. These covered, open halls allowed patients to recover in the fresh air without being directly exposed to the elements.

It's worth doing this. Unfortunately, a lot was destroyed by vandalism. The building is gradually being restored. These are costs in the …

The best for last. In mixed weather in a creepy environment:

Beelitzer Heilstätten, prominently signposted on the motorway south of Berlin.

It once belonged to the LVA Berlin and is now part of an architecture firm that manages the 4 km2 area.

And another must-see place...
Whether on the paths on the ground or on the tree path, the Beelitz sanatoriums are super interesting. It's a pity that you really can't get into any of the buildings without booking an extra tour....

Traditionally, my girls surprise me every year with a trip for my birthday. Today it was time again and we went to Beelitz to the old surgery of the sanatorium. The tour is highly recommended! It's great what they raised there 😊

A short walk through the grounds of the former Beelitz Sanatorium, which also features a treetop walkway included in the price, but I didn't go up high since it was 38°C and it's mostly made of metal. You can also book various guided tours (history) and photo tours.
