I don't like the route as a descent, as only short sections are visible enough to allow you to let it slide. In other words, you spend too much time on the brakes.
Note for winter/spring riders:
Closed from Schönau in winter because the trail isn't cleared. However, especially after longer periods without snowfall or the first warmer days, you can still ride there. A small risk: If things go wrong, you'll have to turn around. I've been lucky so far and only had to carry my bike over the snow for ten or fifteen meters on the pass once.
