The Voßnacker brickworks were built in 1899 to utilize the local clay deposits for brick production. Today, three of the brickworks buildings and the 53-meter-high chimney still exist. The listed brickworks is the last preserved 19th-century brickworks in Essen.

The cycle path through the Deilbachtal was only recently opened. It is the most beautiful connection from Lake Baldeney in Kupferdreh to Kidney. From there it's easy to go to the Wodantal, Felderbachtal, Langenberg, Velbert or Hattingen.

A real treat for cyclists who want to see and enjoy the area.

Absolutely great and consistently concrete or tarred route in good condition. Depending on the time of day and the weather, you can heat up here with a racing bike on an almost flat route with great views in the green. A bell is advisable on weekends. At the Hausscheppen two-wheel meeting point that you pass, you can also strengthen yourself. This section is definitely one of my favorite places in Essen and well worth a visit. 🙂
