Very nice bike path to get among others from farm to Schwarzenbach an der Saale and back, surrounded by nature. It is usually good for two to drive next to each other, so that you can talk comfortably.

Thank you very much, the tour is really challenging because of the many inclines - but also rewarding because of the views.

This is the first stage of my Saale Cycle Path tour. I travelled by train to Münchberg, from there I went to the starting point, the source of the Saale. The route is really beautiful, but very steep.

Unfortunately we could not record the last 13 km because the cell phone is not waterproof 😜 because at the last point of the tour we stood briefly in order to put on our rain gear. It rained heavily up to the train station in Blankenstein. But otherwise it was a nice day tour.

The Saale Cycle Path has now connected the federal states of Bavaria, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt for 30 years. To mark this anniversary, the district of Hof organised an action day and invited people to explore the cycle path. In addition to numerous activities, festivities and free entry to the nearby museums, there was also a competition in which you had …

The first stage of the Saale cycle path. Tough stuff. Beautiful views everywhere, but from the farm it's all uphill and downhill. With 25 kg of luggage, sometimes even the smallest gear isn't enough and you have to push, at least if you don't have an e-bike like we did.

Adventure began with the arrival by DB. 5 km after Münchberg a thunderstorm overtook us, which we sat out in the bus stop. Then it went up to the source of the Saale. Fresh spring water helped us hydrated in the altitude. In Hof, not even a cup of coffee could wash away the physical and mental scars of the …
