Enzian Summit Cross (1,287 m)

The summit cross of the Enzian is one of the most beautiful summit crosses on the tour.

Enzian Summit Cross

Highlight • Summit

Very nice vantage point. Incidentally, it does not always have to be the summit cross, even 50 meters further there are nice (and not overrun) places to rest and enjoy the view.

A new boardwalk has been laid in the middle of the moor, but there is also an old, rather rotten one.

Highlight • Summit

The Hochstein can be reached via two paths from the Scharebenhütte. A somewhat challenging hiking trail begins directly behind the hut. It's varied, but requires a bit more surefootedness.

From Schareben, we headed to the Reischflecksattel and along the ridge path to the Hüttelschachten junction. The return journey along the Tausenderstraße was unfortunately a long slog.

Thanks to @Max and Silke 🤗, I liked your "Woid Tour" yesterday better than the one I originally planned (20 km 🥴), so I quickly took over and added a little something to it 😉

View from the window: Thick soup. The weather app promised us the best hiking weather.
So we drove towards the sun and started our tour at the Schareben mountain inn, which is already at an altitude of 1000 m. Here the sun was already shining from every buttonhole.
We made steady progress!
The first summit was the Heugstatt (1262 m). …

It was very windy today, and there were still lots of thick snow patches in places. The tour turned out a bit longer than planned, but for the sake of the capercaillie, we went out for a nice walk 😊
Unfortunately, my knee gave out for the last kilometer 🦵🏼😬
The apple strudel at the Schareben Hut calmed it down …

The Goldsteig is always worth a trip!
Even if there are an incredible number of people on the way at the moment, the path is fantastic.
On this round part of the way back is unfortunately on forest roads, but with more calm.
It would have been nicer to go back and forth from the path, but this route also …

The first part of the tour was super beautiful - it goes from the Schareben mountain hut to the Heugstatt - further to the second summit, the Enzian, and in between through endless blueberry fields - I got a Scandinavian feeling. The last part on forest paths was unfortunately a bit monotonous. You can reminisce about the beautiful first part.

It was wonderful again 😁

I'm already looking forward to next year 😊
