Sinzing Danube Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The bridge was opened in December 2023, creating the only legal Danube crossing for cyclists between the weir in Rbg West and the Bad Abbach pedestrian bridge! It was about time!! 👍🍀🙋🏼‍♂️

Mariaort Railway Bridge

Highlight (Segment) • Bridge

This is a railway bridge with a pedestrian walkway. I use the bridge a lot with my MTB. Please watch out for pedestrians when using them. They have priority. So just stop and let the pedestrians by. It works best together.

Kalvarienbergkirche

East of the pilgrimage church Mariaort, the Kalvarienbergkirche stands on an elevation. It was built in 1724. The exterior appears like a high base with rectangular niches in which the windows are located. The interior is a polygonally closed hall with four window axes. A mirror ceiling is supported by wall pillars with high bases, Corinthian-like capitals, and strong entablature and round arches above the windows.
The Calvary complex is built in the style of the Holy Stairs in Rome. A staircase leads up to the high altar in three sections, which stands in front of the large flat niche with the crucifixion scene. Between the flights of stairs, two stairwells lead down to the Holy Sepulchre, which is located under the altar. The stair landings at the bottom and top bear eight dynamic angel figures.
On the Epistle side at the bottom stands the figure of the Prophet Isaiah, on the Gospel side that of the Prophet Jeremiah. The choir above is closed off by excellent wrought-iron grilles between the stairs. The entire furnishings are uniformly dedicated to the Passion of Christ. In the large wall niches below the windows, wall paintings from the time of construction around 1724 depict scenes from the Passion of Christ: Garden of Olives – Arrest; Christ before Caiaphas – Christ before Pilate; Flagellation – Crowning with Thorns; Ecce Homo – Judgment of Pilate; Christ and Veronica – Stripping of the Robes.
The central niche features the crucifixion scene with a large crucifix. The crosses of the two thieves stand to the side at the entrance to the choir. On the west side, there is a curved double gallery on columns.

Naab Bridge in Mariaort

Highlight • Bridge

Modern wood-steel bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. Connection between Mariaort and its pilgrimage church on the opposite bank of the Naab.

With a bit of luck, you can see the "Regina", a replica of a Roman galley, in action on the Naab from here in the summer months.
