We owe the historic Fasanerie garden complex to the Polish King Stanislaus Leszczynski. His friend and mentor, Charles XII, granted him asylum in his Wittelsbach Duchy of Zweibrücken. Stanislaus built a summer residence here – in memory of his happy times in Bessarabia – and gave it the Turkish name Tschifflick.
